Das eigentlich nicht übersetzbare „Serendipity“ ist dabei nicht ausschließlich das blindlings aufs Geratewohl ausgerichtete Finden, es will auch nicht der sprichwörtliche „glückliche Zufall“ sein, der gerade noch ein Unglück wettmacht; Serendipity muss als ein Vorkommen, als eine Entwicklung eines einem zufallenden Ereignisses, verstanden werden, das sich als zufriedenstellend und wohltuend erweist, ohne dass in dem Moment rational zu verstehen ist, woher das Geschehen jetzt kommt, das sich zugleich, scheinbar einer inneren Logik folgend, eben auch noch als folgerichtig erweist.
